This past weekend I had the privilege of joining Leo and Nancy Berg to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary at the Governor Hill’s Mansion in Augusta. If you have never been to the Hill Mansion it is an absolutely beautiful Colonial Revival. For those that don’t know, Leo and Nancy are the proud owners of Rebecca’s restaurant and have been for many years.
I have to say I wish I had as much energy and spunk as Nancy, she made a grand entrance using the Hill mansion main staircase to great effect gracefully coming down into the waiting arms of Leo and the cheers of the many family and friends that were on hand to celebrate with them. Shortly after making her grand entrance Nancy led us all into the main ballroom to share in their first dance and the cake cutting ceremony where Nancy resisted the urge to fully relive their wedding day cake exchange this time feeding Leo his piece without making him wear it.
It was a great evening that I am sure neither they or their friends and family will soon forget.
